The voter registration deadline is approaching to be eligible to vote in the March 20, 2018, General Election.

****IMPORTANT VOTER INFORMATION****

 Voter Registration Deadline Approaching:

February 20, 2018

 

Residents of the Town of Longboat Key must be registered to vote by TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2018 to vote on March 20, 2018.

In addition to Candidate races for Districts 3, 5, and At-Large, the Town of Longboat Key has two referendum questions on the ballot (shown below).

 

TOWN OF LONGBOAT KEY BOND REFERENDUM

APPROVING GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS/NOTES TO FINANCE IMPROVEMENT OF THE TOWN'S FIRE STATIONS

Shall Town of Longboat Key be authorized to issue general obligation bonds/notes, in one or more series, not exceeding $5,895,000.00, bearing interest not exceeding maximum legal rates, maturing not later than 25 years from issuance, payable from the Town's ad valorem tax revenues and full faith, credit and unlimited ad valorem taxing power, to finance the design, demolition, construction, replacement, reconstruction, renovation, improvement and/or equipping of the north and south fire stations?

 

       ___  Yes - For Adoption

       ___  No - Against Adoption 

 

TOWN OF LONGBOAT KEY CHARTER REFERENDUM

REFERENDUM REGARDING THE ADOPTION OF A NEW 2018 TOWN CHARTER

Shall the proposed 2018 Town Charter as set forth in Ordinance 2017-23 be adopted replacing the 2008 Town Charter?

 

  ___  Yes - For Adoption

      ___  No - Against Adoption 

 

District 3 Candidates:

  Ken Schneier and John Weber

District 5 Candidates:

  Randy Langley and Ed Zunz

District At-Large Candidates:

  Irwin Pastor and Jack Wilson

 

To register to vote, you must complete a Florida Voter Registration Application form. Forms are available at supervisor of elections offices, city halls, county offices and libraries, social service agencies, and many area banks, and may be downloaded from the supervisor of elections (SOE) websites at www.sarasotavotes.com or www.votemanatee.com.

 

The Supervisor of Elections Office also recommends that voters verify their registration information.  A voter who has moved, had a name change, or needs to update his or her signature since the last election may do so by completing a voter registration application.
