PACE-Property Assessed Clean Energy Program

Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Programs - Free workshops and webinars sponsored by Sarasota County.

The Longboat Key Town Commission adopted Resolution 2018-21 which provides for an "opt-in" to the Manatee and Sarasota Counties PACE program.  The PACE program is a financing option available to both homeowners and business property owners on Longboat Key.  The Counties have issued contracts to PACE providers which are available for Longboat Key property owners to utilize.


Property owners interested in making energy or storm-related property improvements are invited to learn more about financing available through the PACE program.  Sarasota County is offering free workshops or on-line webinars.

The PACE Program provides financing options through Special Districts (providers) to improve energy efficiency and strengthening of homes and businesses.  Qualifying improvements include:

  • Energy conservation and efficiency improvement, which is a measure to reduce consumption through conservation or a more efficient use of electricity, natural gas, propane, or other forms of energy on the property. Qualifying improvements include, but are not limited to:  installation of insulation, installation of energy efficient heating, cooling, or ventilation system, building modifications to increase the use of daylight, replacement of windows, installation of energy controls or energy recovery systems, installation of electric vehicle charging equipment, and installation of efficient lighting equipment.
  • Renewable energy improvement, which is the installation of any system in which the electrical, mechanical, or thermal energy is produced from a method that uses one or more of the following fuels or energy sources:  hydrogen, solar energy, geothermal energy, bio-energy, and wind energy.
  • Wind resistance improvements, which includes, but is not limited to:  improving the strength of the roof deck attachment, creating a secondary water barrier to prevent water intrusion, installing wind-resistant shingles, installing gable-end bracing, reinforcing roof to wall connections, installing storm shutters, or installing opening protections.
